It was great to see so many people on Monday who could make it to our event at Medway. There was much positive feedback for our first year students and clinicians who had kindly come in to talk. I will be posting up some clips from the afternoon next week.
In the meantime have any of you been following The Guardian this week? Its amazing. Not only is The Guardian full of the usual social and healthcare news items which you can follow- this week they have been doing a special edition featuring Occupational Therapy, where the general public can find out more about our profession and the role it plays in helping people continue to live independent and fulfilling lives!!
It is causing a lot of interest and excitement over social media sites, and OT’s out in practice have really appreciated seeing this high profile of our profession.
If you haven’t seen this yet, you can view the Guide to Occupational Therapy online here. Its sponsored by the College of Occupational Therapists, so you know its a good resource.
The Guardian today 2 Feb, has reported a huge response to last week’s special focus on occupational therapy, and thanked their readers for comments and feedback. If you missed any of those features, you can catch up with the whole package, above. If there are any issues about working in OT that you’d like to see them cover, do email them or tweet @GdnSocialCare. Its so great to get this recognition!!
