In the UK we are under one month away from the general election. I’m sure most of you have noticed this either on the TV, radio or in the press, and some of you will be aware of the implications this will have not only for yourselves, but for those around you. For some of you, this maybe for the first time.
At times like this it brings to mind a quote from Abraham Joshua Heschel:
“A test of a people is how behaves towards the old.
It is easy to love children.
Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children.
But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless
are the true gold mines of a culture”.
