As you will be entering a programme that entitles you to apply for professional registration, you will be expected to reflect on your own values, beliefs and behaviours and will be supported throughout your degree to further develop in these areas.
Values involve many things, but below are two examples of what we mean.
Empathy involves an ability to:
- understand a person’s situation, perspective, and feelings.
- to communicate your understanding and check its accuracy .
- To stay non-judgemental regardless of who you are working with, in a professional manner.
Integrity involves the ability to:
- Be respectful
- Embrace professional values
Before your interview think about what your values and beliefs are and what you consider to be good professional behaviours. You may be required to discuss these during your interview.
